Scenic view: clear the screen

One click clears the screen for screenshots or a calm session. Your settings don't change, and one more click brings it all back.

What it does

The XP bar, buffs, chat buttons, the sidebar and minimap clutter fade away. Action bars and the damage meter only come back in combat or when you move your mouse over them.

Choose what else goes: the minimap (a small ScryWoW orb in the corner brings it all back), tooltips, your target's frame, other add-ons' windows, and name plates. Anything you need in a fight comes back when one starts.

It can switch on by itself during flight paths (off when you land) and when you go AFK (off the moment you're back).

How to use it

Open the ≡ menu and click Scenic view, or type /scry scenic.
To bring everything back, click the ScryWoW minimap button (or the orb), or type /scry scenic again.

Good to know

It only fades things on screen. It never changes your game settings.
Not the same as the Scenic leveling style on the website (which swaps XP numbers for the quests and places players remember most), but they go great together: characters on the Scenic style get a one-time reminder about Scenic view in game, and a one-click tip in the tips panel.

Its switches

Every part has its own off switch. In the game: the ≡ menu next to the sidebar tabs, under Scenic view. Or set them on the website under Game Menu → In-game settings, then Export to game.

Hide the minimap too off until you tick itA small ScryWoW orb in the top-right corner brings everything back.
Hide its pins and arrows too on to startQuest pins, TomTom arrows and gathering nodes on the minimap disappear with it. Untick to keep them showing where the minimap was, so you can still find your way.
Hide tooltips (back in combat) on to startNo pop-up tooltips when you mouse over things.
Hide your target's frame (back in combat) on to startYour target's portrait and health stay hidden until a fight starts.
Hide other add-ons' windows off until you tick itWindows from other add-ons (like TomTom's coordinates) fade out too.
Hide name plates and names (back in combat) off until you tick itName plates and the names over players and NPCs switch off in Scenic view. Your own settings come back when it ends or a fight starts.
Turn on during flight paths (off when you land) off until you tick itScenic view starts when you take a flight path and ends when you land, unless you switched it yourself in the air.
Turn on when you go AFK (off when you're back) off until you tick itScenic view starts when you go AFK (/afk or idle) and ends the moment you're back, unless you switched it yourself meanwhile.
